I have been a part of the First Baptist School family since 1978 when my daughter became a student. Later, I joined the staff as a teacher and enjoyed 14 wonderful years in the classroom. I was then called into Children's Ministry at the church but was still able to stay close to the school until God then opened the door for me to become Director in 2001. I have enjoyed my time here at First Baptist School as Director. Every day is different and I am faced with new challenges and blessings.

I have been married to my husband,John, for almost 40 years. We have three beautiful children that all attended First Baptist School and our three grandchildren were also students. It has been such a blessing to work with so many children and their families through the years. It is such a joy to now have children of former students attending our school, to know that we touched their lives in a special way and now they want that same experience for their little ones

It is my desire to serve God by ministering to His lttle ones. Giving them a place to learn, grow and experience the love of their Heavenly Father.

My life verse is: Isaiah 40:31 "But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

Assistant Director

I was blessed to be a part of the teaching staff from 1995-2005, where I grew in my knowledge as an educator, and spiritual walk. My path led me out of the state, but my heart was never far away. My son attended here as a pre school student, and then in 2014, God led me home. I am excited to begin this new journey as the Office Administrator and work with all of the students and their families.

I love this school and its hands on, developmental approach to teaching. Children learn differently, and at their own pace and we are building a strong foundation for the challenging years ahead. I know you will feel at home here as you in trust your children into our care.

I have two favorite Bible verses:

“Be still and know that I am God.” (Psalm 46:10)

“And we know that in all things God works together for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28)

No matter where our path takes us, God works it all together for His glory!

I strongly believe that God has a plan for all of us and that he has led me to work with children. In 2012 I graduated from Azusa Pacific University, in my hometown, with a Degree in Liberal Studies. It was there that I received many tools, as well as lifelong friendships, that help in me, not only in the classroom, but in my everyday life. I believe that we learn and grow from every experience we have in our lives. I have learned to love through family and friendships, and to be strong by juggling work, school and relationships, as well as customer service and even teaching skills by being a training Manager at McDonalds. However some of the best lessons I have learned have been from the children that I have met.

I have been at First Baptist School now since 2005 and I have loved every minute of it. Every year the children open my eyes to new and exciting adventures. I feel that it is my job to give them the tools they need to be successful in the future and have the utmost confidence in themselves. My hope is to help them continue to love school as well as learn how to see Gods love in everything they do. I feel so blessed to be at a school where I am able to pray with the children on a daily basis about the things that are important to them.

When you come into my classroom I hope you feel bright and warm as well as feel Gods love around you. I hope you also see the children’s creativity flowing throughout the room. This is something that I constantly encourage them to do.

One of my favorite verses is Matthew 18:2-4 - And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.”

If we remember to stop and look through the eyes of the children, we will be able to see all the love God has to show us!

This is my seventh year as a part of the First Baptist Preschool family and am very blessed to be here. I absolutely love my job and working with God's amazing children. I am also a mom to my amazing daughter, Paige, who is going on her third year here at First Baptist School.

I am currently upon completion of my Bachelor’s Degree in Education and Teaching Credential through the University of Phoenix. Over the years, I have worked closely with three and four year old students. Prekindergarten is such a great age to teach and my personal favorite. I always look forward to helping my students grow in Christ while preparing them for the challenges of Kindergarten. I love teaching, especially in a Christian atmosphere and hope to do it until I can’t anymore!

One of my favorite verses is 1 Corinthians 13:13 - And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love

I have been teaching at First Baptist for 15 years. I started out teaching in the three-year-old class, but have had a chance to teach all age groups over the years. I am currently the Afternoon Program Coordinator. I set up and facilate the afternoon enrichment activites. I also am preparing the foods for our healthy snack program. I love to cook and provide food that nourishes our bodies the way God intended it to!

One of my favorite verses is James 1: 2-4 - Consider it pure joy my brothers whenever you face trials of many kinds. The testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

This is my ninth year teaching preschool. I have worked with all different age groups. It is truly my passion, and the path that God has lead me to. I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree from University of Laverne in Liberal Studies in 2012. I am working towards my Masters and Credentials at University of Laverne. I strongly believe in a hands on learning environment. It provides your children with the beginning learning tools that will lead them to success. I am also the teacher of the Ready Set Grow Program, which provides extra help for your children in different subjects. I am a firm believer that God is the ultimate foundation in a classroom. Teaching my students about his love is extremely rewarding. I look forward to watching your children learn and grow!

I have been married for 31 years and have three children and two beautiful granddaughters. All of my children attended school here at First Baptist. As a parent, I was extremely impressed with all the love, kindness and patience shown to my children. I feel so blessed to be part of the First Baptist staff and family. I feel like they are an extension of my own family. I have worked here for 23 years. During those 23 years, I went back to school and studied Early Childhood Development. I have attended many workshops over those 23 years and learned the latest techniques to help your child succeed in school.

My teaching philosophy is that every child is a gift from God. Each is unique and special in their own way. My job as a teacher is to help them succeed and feel positive about themselves.I look forward to a wonderful year with you and your child. Thank you for sharing your precious child with us.

My favorite Bible verse is 1 Corinthians 13: 4-6 - "Love is very patient and kind, never jealous or envious, never boastful or proud, never haughty or selfish or rude. Love does not demand its own way. It is not irritable or touchy. It does not hold grudges and will hardly even notice when others do it wrong. It is never glad about injustice, but rejoices whenever truth wins out."

I have been a Preschool teacher for 30 years, and have been a part of Covina First Baptist since 2007. I an blessed and thankful for the opportunity to work in a nurturing environment, where children can learn and experience new challenges that will help build their confidence. Working with the three-year-old age group, I realize how special these early years are and the positive impact we have on their growth. I count it a blessing and a privilege to be apart of your child's early education, and spiritual growth.

I am married, have four grown children, and have been blessed with nine beautiful grandchildren. I love to read and go on walks.

My favorite verse is Proverbs 3:5-6 - Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.
